Spraying Champagne for Bridge Park Engagement Photos
It wasn’t My Idea
“What should I do with my bag,” Marybeth asked while standing on the bridge. I looked down to see her large, cotton tote sitting at her feet. She started to shuffle through the bag before I could answer. “We have our second outfits in here, some shoes, my purse, and bubbly of course,” Marybeth said. The last part caught me by surprise. It was said as though we all walk around with champagne in our bags. On second thought, this could bode well for their Bridge Park engagement photos.
“What is the champagne for,” I asked, hoping for the answer I wanted. Thus began a back and forth debate on what to do with the champagne. Of course we would open it! The question was how we would open it. Eventually we settled on a plan. The cork comes out at sunset, on the rooftop, with flutes in hand. With that settled, we headed across the bridge to start the photos.
Telling secrets
By the library in downtown Dublin, we stopped to take some photos. Marybeth & Spencer were in position, and I was finding my spot. I looked up to see Marybeth whispering to Spencer. You can see the result below. Couples who are truly engaged with each other create great moments. I want people to forget I am there, if only for a moment, so we can make a little magic.
A Moment for Champagne
We found ourselves standing on the rooftop and the sun was setting. The sunset was cloudless with a crystal blue sky. A pale band of peachy-yellow stretched all the way around the horizon. The time for champagne had come. “I want to spray it,” Marybeth said. While not the original plan, this idea was better. After a moment for instructions, we were ready. I never anticipated what would happen next. We had a whole series of photos filled with champagne sparkling in the sunshine, and a moment I will never forget.
