Spanish Lace & A Rural Society Wedding

“Do you like my veil,” Georgia asked, as she drew the lace over her shoulders. “I had it shipped from Barcelona,” she finished, now with the wedding veil neatly wrapped around her. “It’s truly stunning,” I said. Her pride was justified. Not only was I amazed with Georgia, but also her entire Rural Society wedding.

The Rural Society at Warwick Farm near Mount Vernon, Ohio was new to me. At first I was a little skeptical about the location. Farm weddings can be a little risky. However, I was quickly won over by the Rural Society. The farm is set in a rolling valley. Little buildings dot the landscape centered around a large, white barn. A reclaimed glass greenhouse lies at one end. On another side, white honeysuckle climbs the wall of a small cottage. Best of all are the flowers, They fill every gab between the buildings and seem to overflow everywhere. The whole property feels like an informal English garden.

Farm Fresh Wedding

Any Rural Society wedding is made better by Page Price, and her stunning floral designs. The results can be seen in the bridesmaid’s bouquets and the reception floral designs. Each arrangement is filled with homegrown dahlias, zinnias, and peonies. I personally love the pale yellow, pink, and coral colors.

Sunset also brings a burst of color to the landscape. Georgia, Nick and I snuck out of their wedding reception for a few sunset photos. After a brief drive up the hill, we found a special spot by an old oak tree. Before long it was time to abandon the sun-soaked landscape and return to the wedding reception, but not before greeting some local cows.

Georgia & Nick’s wedding reception was also a dream. The reception was housed in the central white barn, at least temporarily. Following the dinner, guests spilled out into the warm summer night. They sipped drinks, socialized, and danced under the soft flow of cafe lights.
