The Country Club Wedding Full of Spring Florals
This Wedding Feels Familiar
I had been here before, but I don’t mean the locations. I have photographed many Catholic ceremonies and weddings at The Country Club. What I mean is that I have been in this emotional state before, and with these people before. A few years ago, I photographed Megan’s wedding, elder sister to Mairin. In so doing, I absolutely fell in love with their family. Their grace, hospitality, and warmth is truly infectious.
Being in this place again also meant being in a certain state of mind. IAnxious to get every little detail perfect. Happy to be with familiar people. Excited for what was sure to be an amazing experience. While The Country Club weddings are some of my favorite, Mairin & Bronson’s wedding is truly something to behold.
Moments in Time at a Wedding
I spoke with Mairin’s mother before the wedding day. “I’m looking for this one photo,” she said. She went on to describe a photo from Megan’s wedding. A photo of the bride and groom ascending the stairs at the altar. “Done, I know the one,” I replied and carefully added it to the list. That photo was easy enough to capture. What no one planned for was a serious on small, poignant photos scattered throughout the ceremony series, some included below. My personal favorite is the ceremony exit on the front steps to St. John Cantius church.
The Country Club Wedding
May had just rolled around on the calendar. The gardens were just beginning to pop with flowers, having been dutifully cared for by the lady’s club. Warm sun gave way to cool clouds, and then back to sun again. The floral design pulled this all together. Bridal flowers featured warm whites and the reception flowers featured cool blue hydrangeas. All of this was against a backdrop of bridesmaids in steel blue. Except for our two sisters, dressed in flawless blue floral gowns.
Seeing the Vision
I love Mairin & Bronson’s reaction to seeing their Country Club wedding reception for the first time. Bronson in particular was blown away. After all those months of working on the design, finally seeing the setup can be overwhelming. The room was absolutely gorgeous. The teams from Molly Taylor & Co. and Kirkbrides did an amazing job. That’s why I highly recommend both to my clients.

A Feeling of Gratitude
It can easy for work to feel like, well, just work. I try to avoid this as much as possible and to find little joys in all the tasks, whether it be editing photos, taking phone calls, or making new connections. For Mairin & Bronson’s wedding there was no work. The wedding was a joy to capture, a joy to experience, and a joy to see the family once more. For that, I am forever grateful.
