It was about 10:30pm when I finally dropped my camera bags back in my office. After a short hunt through the bags, I pulled out a memory card and slumped into my office chair. For the next 10 minutes, the computer slowly duplicated the memory card. I tapped my pen on the desk impatiently – “c’mon already!” A ding signaled that the download was complete, and I leapt into the photos immediately. I hunted through them, looking for moments also trapped in my head. Moments from the day that I needed to share immediately. Before I fell asleep that night, I had located, edited and posted an instant preview from Katie & Andy’s Cleveland Key Center wedding. Heck, the preview went up before the wedding was technically over.
Providing such an instant preview for a wedding is an exceptionally rare action for me. Excitement must be high, as well as my dwindling energy in order to post such a quick preview. This alone says volumes about how amazing Katie & Andy’s Key Center wedding was. Like any other wedding, the day started off smoothly. Katie was surrounded by her bridesmaids as she got ready, and Andy by family and the groomsmen. Each and every one of them were gorgeous. I mean this was a shockingly good looking group of people. More importantly, each person was also so warm and nice. I could immediately understand why Katie & Andy held them so close to their hearts.
Most breathtaking was Katie herself. She wore a gorgeous sheath dress covered in fine lace. Her matching white shoes were also perfectly elegant. I already know many other brides will be ask me where she found her shoes. Honestly, I have no clue. Only marginally less important than the dress, Katie wore her grandmother’s cocktail ring – her most treasured “borrowed” item.
The wedding ceremony and reception were set in the lobby of the Cleveland Key Center, with the ceremony on one side and the reception on the other. In both cases, the details chosen by Katie & Andy fell into a classic theme – elegantly simple. Each table at the reception was decorated with square glass vases overflowing with hydrangeas and peony’s in varying colors. The room was filled with beautifully colored light splashing off the walls and ceiling. As an added thank you for each guest, Katie and Andy provided custom wine bottles as guest favors.
And the wedding was overflowing with moments as well. The ceremony was filled with laughter thanks to a wonderful officiant. Andy’s mother looked on with pride as Katie got ready, and shed tears during the mother-son dance. Each toast shared at the start of the reception was funnier than the last. To end, guests dance late into the night. I hardly wanted to leave when my time was up. I guess that is why I rushed a preview through that night – to relive each awesome moment before the bright memories started to fade.
