Michelle & RobertWestwood Country Club Wedding

Two minutes after leaving my studio, I arrived at Michelle’s home. Her parents are essentially my neighbors and live just around the corner. As I arrived, their renaissance-inspired brick home looked perfectly manicured. Inside, Michelle was patiently waiting with her mom. They were eager to get started. We chatted for a few minutes as I photographed Michelle’s beautiful sheath dress, shoes, and rings. I made sure to include as much blue-and-white porcelain as possible to match her wedding design. Before long, it was time to get prepared for her Westwood Country Club wedding.

Michelle slipped into her wedding dress with the help of her mother. On went the jewelry and soon it was time for the first look. Family hid away inside while I prepared Michelle. Robert had just arrived and I positioned him in the side garden. He nervously rocked his weight from foot to foot while I went back to signal Michelle.

Nervous anxiety seems to take over on the morning of a wedding. This only clears after the first look, whenever that happens to be. Michelle & Robert chose to share their first look in the garden. Immediately following, you could feel anxiety give way to excitement. Worry give way to love. It also became apparent why Michelle loves Robert so much. He uses a subtle, dry humor to keep her constantly laughing, as you will see below.

With the first look and wedding ceremony at St. Christopher’s Church over, we headed to the country club for some portraits and a beautiful summer reception. Below are just a few highlights from Michelle & Robert’s Westwood Country Club wedding photos. I hope you enjoy.

Emily & EvanThorncreek Winery Wedding Photos

It was a hot, verdant day. Thorncreek Winery was filled with the lush greens of summer. It was kind of day where you could feel steam rising from the grass. I don’t think Evan noticed the surroundings, much less me standing next to him. He seemed caught in anticipation’s embrace. In just a moment, Emily would appear, but not to him. She would remain hidden behind his back. They would occupy the same place and time, but not completely together. Without seeing each other, a private set of vows known only to them would be exchanged. To prevent interruption, I stood as still as could be capturing their Thorncreek Winery wedding photos.

The rest of their bohemian-styled wedding unfolded with the equal peace and grace of their vows. The bubbly bridal party shared each moment with their closest friends. Guests, arriving slowly at first, filled the outdoor ceremony with laughter and joy. And under a vine-laced arbor, Emily & Evan were wed.

The sweltering sun began to fade, dipping low in the sky and revealing the purple-orange edges of clouds. As we stepped out from their wedding reception tent, you could hear the low, dragging rumble of thunder. The storm was too far away to threaten this evening. As we wandered across the grass, we slowly captured some extra sunset wedding photos. Mostly, I just let Emily & Evan be themselves. They have a natural fit that I didn’t need nor want to disturb.

One additional note worth mentioning. Emily chose to use Molly Taylor & Co. for her floral design. She was equally as impressed with Molly’s team as I have always been. Also worth noting is that I captured the majority of Emily & Evan’s Thorncreek Winery wedding photos on film, which is always my preference.

Cameron & WesKirtland Country Club Wedding Photography

Two weeks prior, I sat in the club room with Cameron’s mother and an amazing team of wedding professionals. Over the course of two hours, we reviewed Cameron & Wes’ Kirtland Country Club wedding photography in detail. Every aspect of the day was discussed. Ceremony location, tent position, beer brand, and the steel drum player were covered in detail. I walked away from the meeting feeling buoyant. I could already tell their Bahamian-themed wedding would be truly special.

I stepped into the ladies parlor on the morning of the wedding. Cam was positioned in a pool of light by the window. A hair and make-up team was dutifully preparing Cam and a friend. The room was positively buzzing with friends and family. No one was rushing about. Instead, the energy was composed of anticipation. I was a bit early, so I decided to concentrate on some details. Before long, it was time kick things off. Cam took a moment to read a note from Wes before slipping into her lace sheath dress. Surrounded by friends, Cam and her mother made sure every detail was perfect.

But let’s rewind to the begin before we begin anew. Cam and Wes met while attending the Island School in the Bahamas. From there, the continued dating as their lives took them all over. Their Bahamian-themed wedding was simply a reflection of their life together. Kalik beer floated in steel boats at cocktail hour, while a steel drum player strummed in the background. The bridesmaids wore dresses reminiscent of tropical flowers. Tables we decorated in white and ocean blue.

It’s not an island wedding without a party, which continued long into the night under a full moon. Below are just a few highlights from Cam & Wes’ Kirtland Country Club wedding photography and fun moments from throughout the day.
