PUBLISHED – Hunter Photographic Featured in PDN EDU Magazine

I’m certainly very proud to announce that we’ve recently been featured in PDN EDU magazine, which it targeted towards young and upcoming photographers. This time around, PDN has put together a “data” issue, where they discuss many aspects of data management important to photographers.

They chose to feature Hunter Photographic for a few reasons. First, I have never been shy about sharing my experience with Google Analytics and SEO. Based on my prior career experience, I prioritized the use of both within my business. The results speak for themselves. We rocked to the top of Google for our most critical search terms in less than 18 months. On top of that, I’m able to measure our results with Google Analytics and respond quickly. This approach has truly changed the nature of my business for the better, and I highly recommend new and established photographers embrace the power of SEO and Google Analytics.

So, go see the entire issue for yourself. The entire PDN EDU issue is online and free to the public. There is a wealth of great content across the entire issue and I highly recommend a read.

Erika & Scott – An Heirloom Wedding Album for Generations

Whenever possible, typically dependent on time, I love to share wedding albums my clients design. Each one is unique and special. Plus, every wedding album turns out amazing. Not too long ago, Erika and Scott’s wedding album arrived in my office. I had just a few minutes to capture the album before I delivered to their waiting hands.

Erika and Scott chose a very classic and contemporary fabric for their wedding album. It’s a gorgeous gray, raw silk that features a very high sheen. The album is encased in a protective presentation box, held shut with a magnetic closure. The ribbon, while only decorative, puts a perfect finishing touch on the whole presentation. Within is an Heirloom album, one of two that I offer. The Heirloom features thick pages, which are stiff as boards. With extra pages Erika and Scott chose to add, the album weighs nearly 10 pounds.

A wedding album should be substantial. They’re supposed to last for generations. I want my client’s grandchildren to hold their album, so I have always been careful about album selection. This is why I insist on the hand-made approach, and why I use Cypress Albums. Dena and her team make it right the first time. Everything is hand-made and everything is custom. I even had the chance to visit Cypress as this very album was being made. Seeing the work in process really helped me to understand how seriously Cypress takes their work. What Cypress does is really amazing.

Below are just a few highlight’s of Erika and Scott’s album. I hope you enjoy!

I’m really appreciate good presentation. So I made sure to wrap up Erika and Scott’s wedding album and seal it nicely with a bow and tag. As I work on more client albums, I will share what I can. Definitely stop back to see more soon.

Katie & Matt – Summer Wedding in the Valley

I was already amp’d up when I walked into the salon. It was finally time for Katie & Matt’s wedding. I had been anticipating their wedding for months, and planning hard. Initially, it started rather simple. We met at a local restaurant for the first time. Matt and Katie sat side-by-side in the booth, and I was in the chair across the table. Thereafter, we slowly got to know each other. There was an email here, or a call there. Before long, we were shooting their stunning engagement session. Following their summer engagement session, it really felt like I was working with friends. I knew their wedding would be fun, but I was surprised at how awesome it was.

Where do I begin with what I love? The beginning seems appropriate – like the most amazing group of bridesmaids in matching monogrammed shirts. Seriously, they’re the sweetest ladies ever, and fun too. Katie looked drop-dead gorgeous before she even put on her dress. Katie & Matt are also dog lovers, and we found a way to capture their furry friend as well. Speaking of Matt, he and the groomsmen were picture-perfect. The brace of groomsmen were dressed to the nines, mostly brothers, and completely awesome.

And the day was perfect too – with warm weather and a beaming sun. Katie had requested portraits in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, which happens to be my favorite. With that setting and the beautiful light, things would normally go well. Add in a really fun bridal party and you get something really special.

Capping off the amazing people was a beautiful design. White orchid & rose bouquets, royal blue dresses, proper black tuxedos, a TALL wedding cake, and a beautiful venue! The ceremony at St. Basil in Brecksville was more celebratory than somber, and the reception at Embassy Suites in Independence was perfect. People laughed and cried during the toasts. Katie gave a wink I’ll never forget, and Matt partied like a rock star! I could go on and on, but I will simply leave you with the following.

The first thing Katie did after returning from the salon was to greet Buster, a sweet friend who wouldn’t make it to the wedding.

I love kisses during the recessional! Makes for a killer photo.

Of course I love the fun moments, especially when caught on film (i.e. the real stuff).

That look is to die for, and her flowers below are just as stunning.

And there’s the wink – just above-right. I’ll never forget it.

I love the party shots at the end as well. Katie and Matt really know how to do it right. Of course we still keep in touch. Since they live in Chicago, we might just bump into each other on a random St. Patrick’s day.
