Certain aspects of my job still amaze me. Specifically, the circle of friends I develop each year while working with my amazing clients. Last year, I photographed Meredith & Hunter’s wedding, which lead me to photographing Lauren & John’s Cleveland Botanical Gardens wedding just a couple weeks ago. Then Lauren’s friend Bailey contacted me for her Old Arcade wedding, which I captured just last week. And this circle keeps expanding, built around friends from Hathaway Brown school. This kind of connection with my clients means so much to me.
Friendship is also a good theme for Lauren & John’s wedding. Having friends and family play important roles in the wedding was important to Lauren and John. For example, close friends gave readings during the wedding ceremony. Lauren & John also made sure family photos weren’t just about family, but also about friends. We made sure to capture photos of them together with friends from different phases in their lives – Hathaway Brown, Middlebury and more. The sense of friendship at their wedding was evident.
Beyond the deep integration of friends and family in Lauren & John’s wedding, I was blown away by the amazing wedding design. Lauren & John brought a beautiful sense of style to their Cleveland Botanical Gardens wedding. The floral design by Plantscaping was simply spectacular, with bright highlights of red, pink and white. The rich colors also carried over to the wedding fashion with dresses of deep navy and bright pink shoes. This was then echoed in the reception itself, as you can see below. Of course the design was set against the gorgeous backdrop of the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, which is always beautiful in summer.
Below are just a few highlights to enjoy. For Lauren & John – thank you so much for briefly inviting me into your circle of friends. It’s been so wonderful!
