“Please ship this film express,” I asked Maria. “It needs to get to California immediately,” I followed up. Protected safely within each roll of film were memories. They were memories of Bailey & Walt’s Hyatt Regency Cleveland Arcade wedding. They were also my memories. Memories of two amazing weeks with new friends.
The memories were the story of an amazing wedding day. Like Bailey laughing and crying with her sisters as she got ready. Bailey’s sisters were practicing their processional walk, as Bailey and I gave each other a eye of comedic intent. Further on in the story was the first look shared between Bailey and Walt at the downtown Cleveland library. Nestled among the stacks, Bailey and Walt saw each other for the first time. Bailey and Walt chose the library because of their love of reading. The story continued outside as we captured more portraits with family and friends looking on.
I could finally see the meaning of the memories when I started to edit the photos. It’s a story of a bride and groom, obsessed with each other, who wanted to share their joy with family and friends. Both Bailey and Walt didn’t miss an opportunity to express their gratitude. For example, they took a really special moment during the ceremony to specifically thank their parents. Or even the special “after party” they threw for friends at a bowling alley around the corner.
The day was filled with grace and gratitude. I hope I captured their wedding with the same effortless beauty that Bailey and Walt invested into their wedding. And for Bailey and Walt – thank you for treating me as a friend. It was so nice to capture your wedding, but also to hangout together afterward. For everyone, I hope you enjoy a few highlights below.
